mEET THE ARTIST

Nigel Manders is a highly-trained fine artist and designer, with a lifelong interest in anything that flies, drives or floats and all things vintage. Growing up in a family with a fascinating military past, and later living in Germany when the Berlin Wall fell, sparked a passion for history that shows in his art and restoration work. Also a keen musician, Nigel helped develop the Southern Maltings arts centre in Ware, Hertfordshire. Signifyr was born from his diverse interests, skills and experience.

Hand-crafted, LOVINGLY DETAILED

Created with great care and attention to detail, many hours of research and digital design takes place before work starts on making a finished piece. In the final stages of a project I apply fine detailing and weathering by hand to give as authentic a look as possible.
 
Many of the techniques I use are adapted from the traditional skills of fine artists, signwriters, restorers, modellers, metalworkers and prop makers. I love mixing things up and experimenting to create new effects.

Decorative metal panels & wooden signs

Signifyr help create the atmosphere you want indoors or out by reflecting your favourite marques, brands and passions. Striking contemporary hand-made pieces that tap into our past, evoking the spirit of a bygone era. Totally unique and fully weather-proof, each panel is hand painted using traditional techniques and is engraved on the reverse with title, creation date and artist signature. I also produce gilded letter designs using 23.5 carat gold leaf.
