I created this large hand-painted panel for a customer who wanted me to replicate a c.1920 Heinz sign, but change the name and give it the appearance of a genuine rusty antique enamel advertising sign. I used various techniques to create 'rust' patches which are totally convincing even when touched. The piece was finished with three coats of museum grade protective wax.
