This desk trophy was created especially for Capt. Steve Porter as a retirement gift from his colleagues after 27 years as a pilot for Virgin Atlantic. The Boeing 767 Dreamliner tail fin has been replicated in small scale and rotates on a stand. The reverse of the fin has been polished and features the signatures of the commissioners and a dedication.
Water-based oven-baked acrylics and lacquer on 0.5mm aluminium marine ply and steel tube structure. Base is machined 10mm stainless steel, with 6mm steel thread.
